“Ten Ideas to Resist: Quickly Getting Out of Pesticides”: Vincent Bretagnolle, guest on Le Monde’s Chaleur Humaine podcast

On the occasion of the 2nd Festival of Chaleur Humaine Ideas, recorded on January 18, 2026, at the Théâtre de la Ville, Vincent Bretagnolle was the guest of Le Monde for the episode “Ten Ideas to Resist: Quickly Getting Out of Pesticides”.
Ecologist and research director at CNRS, Vincent is the coordinator of our Living Lab 2.Sèvres, a research initiative rooted in the Plaine & Val de Sèvre Workshop Zone, dedicated to the co-construction of Nature-based Solutions in agricultural settings. For over 30 years, he has been developing, alongside farmers and scientists, approaches aimed at reconciling agricultural production, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience.
In this episode, he proposes an ambitious plan to phase out pesticides in five years, allowing farmers the necessary time to organize and transform their practices. An intervention that echoes the work carried out within the Living Lab 2.Sèvres, where scientific experimentation feeds concrete alternatives to support the agroecological transition.
