
The National Research Program on Nature-Based Solutions is pleased to announce its call for research proposals titled “SOLU-BIOD: Toward a Systems Approach to Nature-Based Solutions”.
This call for proposals aims to support interdisciplinary projects that enhance our understanding of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and accelerate their implementation in response to current environmental and societal challenges
The call for proposals is structured around four complementary themes:
- Biological and Eco-Evolutionary Foundations of NbS
- Governance and Social Dynamics of NbS
- Assessment, Scaling Up, and Transformation of Practices
- Integrative modeling and future scenarios
Expected projects and funding arrangements
- Projects duration: 3 to 5 years
- Amount of funding: Between €700,000 and €1 million per project
- Approach: Interdisciplinary, involving multiple research teams and potentially non-academic partners
- Total budget: 13.4 million euros, divided into two funding rounds
Evaluation Process
The project evaluation process is carried out by the French National Research Agency (ANR), which will review the applications and complete project proposals.
Schedule and Application Submission
The call for proposals consists of two phases:
Phase 1: Submission of letters of intent
Deadline: May 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (Paris time)
Phase 2: Submission of complete proposals
Deadline: September 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (Paris time)
