Call for Research Proposals
Several calls for proposals (CFP) are planned under the SOLU-BIOD initiative to support French research on Nature-based Solutions (NbS):
The first call for research proposals was launched in March 2025 and was aimed at funding collaborative research projects addressing four major scientific challenges related to NbS:
The Role of Genetic Diversity and Evolutionary Potential in NbS at Different Scales
Social processes at work in NbS (rules, governance, etc.)
Performance Evaluation of Nature-based Solutions and Mechanisms for Scaling Them Up
Scenarios and Models for Nature-based Solutions in a Changing Environment
The expected projects, lasting 3 to 5 years and with funding ranging from 700,000 to 1 million euros, were to involve multiple research teams and potentially non-academic partners. They were required to adopt an interdisciplinary approach, demonstrate the potential for significant impact, and comply with the FAIR principles as well as the Nagoya Protocol.
Following review by an international jury, we are delighted to announce the winning projects:

Call for Proposals for Equipment Funding EQUIP SOLU-BIOD
As part of the program, the EQUIP SOLU-BIOD equipment funding call is issued twice a year to support the acquisition of scientific equipment needed to advance research on Nature-based Solutions.
The first edition resulted in the selection of several winning projects, the results of which are available here.
The second call of the year closed on March 30, 2026. Its aim was to continue strengthening the program’s scientific capabilities by funding new infrastructure for research. The timeline and details of the call are available here.

Selected candidates will carry out a joint research and teaching project that is fully integrated into the host institution, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and training in NbS.
Each chair includes:
- 24 months salary
- a three-year contract for a doctoral candidate or a two-year contract for a postdoctoral researcher at the beginning of their career
- a Master’s 2 internship grant
- €70,000 to support research activities
