Nature-based Solutions

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are approaches to the protection, restoration, or management of ecosystems that effectively address various societal challenges and have positive impacts on social, environmental, economic aspects as well as biodiversity.

France hosts high-level research on biodiversity but lacks a well-structured research community to tackle the challenges of NbS. The national research program therefore aims to promote the development of innovative and ambitious research on NbS as systemic approaches.
