Living lab Antharès

The Antharès living lab studies Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) applied to the urban area of the Lyon metropolitan region and its rural and peri-urban surroundings.

Priority scientific questions

The activity of the Antharès living lab is organized around three questions, which are addressed and monitored through several actions:

  1. To what extent can NbS constitute effective systemic solutions to address major societal challenges?
  2. What are the synergies and trade-offs between the multiple social, economic, and environmental benefits of different NbS?
  3. Dans quelle mesure les SfN peuvent-elles augmenter les capacités d’adaptation et de résilience de la biodiversité, des groupes sociaux et des territoires face aux changements et incertitudes à venir ? To what extent can NbS enhance the adaptive and resilience capacities of biodiversity, social groups, and territories in the face of future changes and uncertainties?

Les actions du living lab

The Antharès Living Lab structures its activities around four main areas:

  1. Identifying the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) that are or could be implemented in each territory to provide multiple benefits
  2. Analyzing the environmental, social, and economic benefits and costs of NbS for different social groups, as well as for biodiversity
  3. Studying the ecological and social factors that facilitate or hinder the deployment, networking, and valorization of NbS
  4. Co-producing, with local stakeholders, various relevant socio-ecological scenarios to better understand the deployment trajectories of NbS within the Lyon Metropolitan area
